Mile Marker Zero

Dawson Creek is famous for being the beginning of the Alaskan Highway.  We have made it to the next phase of our adventure.

We have spent much of the day doing maintenance, taking showers, doing laundry, and repacking.

Jim and Irene arrived late this morning.  After we each complete errands and tasks, we will meet for dinner tonight and share stories.  Jim and Irene have been on the road for ten weeks, traveling as far as Fairbanks. They plan to return to their home in Colorado within the next two weeks.

The temperature is lovely.  It is almost chilly in the shade.  Instead of feeling like we're amidst billowing sails, the breeze has settled and only flutters the edges of the tent.  We remember our Texas friends, wishing we could blow a bit of this south to share.
